The purpose of the Web Standards and Guidelines website
The Web Standards and Guidelines site details all standards, guidelines and procedures for developing and delivering products and services for the LTS Online Service.
Targeting primarily Content Editors, Development Officers (subject area specialists), Technical Developers and Designers working in LTS, the site offers a number of benefits:
- It gives LTS staff easy and central access to information and content surrounding our website standards, guidelines and procedures
- It offers a tool that can be used as part of the induction process for new staff
- It can help to broaden existing knowledge and understanding of staff
What's the Web Standards and Guidelines website and who is its intended audience?
The Web Standards and Guidelines website also aims to provide clear guidance to partner organisations and external contractors supplying materials to or publishing materials on the LTS Online Service.
Finally, whilst this site provides useful content related to what we do in the field of standards and guidelines, it is not a training site. In order to maintain a clear vision/focus and purpose for this site and to make the website easy to navigate, a decision has been made to exclude training documentation.
Where staff require formal training, this is best delivered through other more appropriate means which involve a high degree of face-to-face tuition and support.
