Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) is committed to providing world-class teaching and learning experiences for Scotland’s children and young people. As the lead organisation for curriculum development in Scotland, it offers support and guidance to teachers, early years practitioners, schools, education authorities and other organisations to help improve achievement for all.
One such tool that contributes to this remit is the LTS Online Service which engages, stimulates and informs thousands of teachers and practitioners by providing a number of websites that offer support on all areas of the curriculum.
The Web Standards and Guidelines site details all standards, guidelines and procedures for developing and delivering products and services for the LTS Online Service.
Targeting primarily Content Editors, Development Officers (subject area specialists), Technical Developers and Designers working in LTS, the site offers a number of benefits:
The Web Standards and Guidelines website also aims to provide clear guidance to partner organisations and external contractors supplying materials to or publishing materials on the LTS Online Service.
Finally, whilst this site provides useful content related to what we do in the field of standards and guidelines, it is not a training site. In order to maintain a clear vision/focus and purpose for this site and to make the website easy to navigate, a decision has been made to exclude training documentation.
Where staff require formal training, this is best delivered through other more appropriate means which involve a high degree of face-to-face tuition and support.
