Video production guidelines

Video intended for delivery online must be supplied as edited sequences on either video tape or as files in best quality DV files for future encoding or editing.

This document provides guidelines for the production and delivery of videos by LTS as well as the standards that underpin the process.

Stages involved:

  1. Video filming and export
  2. Video encoding
  3. Delivery
  4. Publishing video using the LTS content management system.

Duration of video files

As a general rule videos for publication on LTS websites should be no longer than five minutes.

If you are planning a longer length of video you should try and break it down into several clearly defined sequences, such as 'Introduction', 'Learning outcomes' and 'Evaluation'.
