Learning and Teaching Scotland (LTS) is committed to developing capacity for research and evaluation. As part of that commitment we evaluate the impact of all aspects of our work.
These evaluations help LTS make improvements and add to the body of knowledge that informs educational policy and practice.
We apply a variety of approaches such as questionnaires, focus groups and peer review.
The Health Promoting Schools website is run by the Scottish Health Promoting Schools Unit. We commissioned an external evaluation consultant - InterLynx - to formally evaluate this website. We wanted to evaluate impact and usefulness of the website for the different users of the website. Please download the finished report to find out more about what was involved in the evaluation process.
We use peer review as part of the development process for the LTS Online Service. Peer review of new websites and sections of websites is carried out before publication. The findings of peer reviews can be a powerful way of helping to inform and enhance subsequent developments.
Peer review is carried out by experts who may be drawn from a variety of disciplines and may include content editors, development officers and technical developers.
For consistency of approach we structure the review using the following document.
