Police officers and staff from the Strathclyde Police Crash Investigation Unit demonstrate the application of maths and physics to students at Marr College in a 'real world' context. The students participate by using formulas that they learn in class to solve problems and gather data from a recreated accident scene. Police staff, teaching staff and pupils describe why learning through this partnership is effective and enjoyable.
The Strathclyde Police Crash Investigation Unit were approached by Aryshire Chamber of Commerce to work in partnership with Marr College. The partnership would involve working with pupils studying maths and physics. The activities they carried out demonstrated how maths and physics can be applied to real life situations.
