About this video |
Primary five pupils from Royal Mile Primary School visited HBOS Museum on the Mound to learn about money. The museum's education programme was developed in partnership with primary teachers and aims to support financial education by introducing children to the world of money and educating them in all aspects of the production of money, including its history and current status. When visiting the museum, children get to stamp their own coins, handle ancient coins, understand the concept of using coins and notes and think about the artistic elements to the production of money, as well as practice numeracy skills. The movie features contributions by the museum staff, teachers and pupils who find that world of finance links closely with the interdisciplinary focus of Curriculum for Excellence. As a relatively new museum it aims to develop and broaden its educational services and cooperation with schools over the next years and this video is an evaluation of the first year's successful pilot project. |
