Glasgow City Council is taking a phased approach to Glow rollout. Phase 1 which began in April 2010 provided read accounts and training to selected staff of every educational establishment across the city. All staff now have access to Glow and pupil accounts have been provisioned to all establishments. Phase 2 which consists of training a Glow Leadership team for each establishment is well underway. As each leadership team completes their phase 2 training and are equipped with the skills to properly manage and implement Glow throughout their establishment, then all staff and pupil accounts are upgraded to full access.
As at August 2011 all Nursery establishments and around 50% of Secondary, Primary and ASL establishments have full access accounts. Phase 2 training is ongoing for the remainder as and when the Head Teacher believes their establishment is ready to progress.
A parental/carer pilot for access to Glow is currently being planned. This will be undertaken in Hyndland Secondary School for years S1 & S2.
Each education establishment manages their own Glow user accounts. For user account support please contact the establishment directly and ask for the Glow ASM.
