The website www.ltscotland.org.uk ("this website") is provided by Learning and Teaching Scotland ("LTS") for use within Scotland, the UK and internationally. When using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use:


1. By using this website you agree to be bound by these terms, which shall take effect immediately on your first use of this website; if you do not agree to be bound by all of the following terms please do not access, use and/or contribute to www.ltscotland.org.uk

2. LTS may change these terms from time to time, so you should check these terms regularly. Your continued use of this website will be deemed acceptance of the updated or amended terms. If you do not agree to the changes, you should cease using this website. If there is any conflict between these terms and specific local terms appearing elsewhere on this website (including house rules) then the latter shall prevail.

Cookies

The LTS website uses third party cookies to measure and increase efficiency of the Online Service.
A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website; if you visit the website again, it is recognised as a repeat visit by reading the cookie. The cookie contains a unique number, but no personal data.

LTS measure the number of website visitors, how frequently pages are viewed, and the city and country of origin of users. This helps to determine what is popular and can influence future content and development. LTS use web analysis software to measure and report on usage of the Online Service. The information collected by LTS will include IP address, pages visited, browser type and operating system. The data will not be used to identify any user personally. If you participate in LTS Discussion Forums you can opt to allow your browser to "remember" your log-in credentials, via a cookie, so that you don’t have to log in again when you return to the forums. This information can be removed from your hard drive by selecting the 'Delete all cookies set by this site' link at the very bottom of your forum profile page.

Your name and email address will not be disclosed to a third party. You can set your browser not to accept cookies but, if you do this, please be aware that certain personalised areas of the LTS Online Service cannot be provided to you.

Privacy

LTS recognises that your privacy is important to you. LTS is registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998 and is committed to respecting online privacy.
We will apply appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information you share with us. Any personal information you do provide will be held and processed by LTS in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998. We will not pass on your details to any third party unless you give us permission to do so.

Forums, Blogs and Wikis

Discussion forums, blogs and wikis feature in various areas of Learning and Teaching Scotland Online Service.

Any messages or information you contribute to these become the sole property of LTS and may or may not be displayed, at the our discretion. The posting of copyrighted or illegal material is prohibited - you must comply with applicable local laws, including those of the server and site owner. You may not post information invasive of another's personal privacy rights, anything that may constitute harassment or libel, or information of a confidential or copyrighted nature.

The forums, blogs and wikis managed by LTS are provided as a public service and your usage of these services may be terminated at any time by LTS without prior notice. Information submitted to the system should not be considered confidential or private and may be revealed as part of normal system operations. No warranty of service is implied.
