| Seminar description | A programme of fieldwork activity days involving all Renfrewshire Council Primary Schools. The practical outdoor activities enhance and compliment environmental science work at the P4 stage in the Renfrewshire 5-14 Science Pack. The activities focus on habitats and the minibeasts of water and woodland. The activities are delivered in partnership with countryside rangers and Starling Learning, and take place at a range of venues from school grounds, local greenspace, nature reserves and country parks. |

| Speaker biography | Trained as a teacher of biology and outdoor education. Outdoor Instructor at Renfrew Division's Ardentinny Outdoor Education Centre 1980 - 1996. Biology teacher at Gleniffer High School 1996 -1998. Outdoor Education Staff Tutor for Renfrewshire Council 1996 - present, working across sectors and the curriculum within a Healthy Lifestyles Team. Current Chair of the Scottish Advisory Panel for Outdoor Education, and member of Outdoor Connections Advisory Group. |
