Seminar description

This seminar will explore the variety of models of nature based play and learning in the world and discuss their place in Scotland.

Motivational images, anecdotes and learning stories will bring early years outdoor play to life.

Speaker biography

Everyone has a different pathway from there to here. Claire’s path has included lecturing, consultation, design and writing. She is the author of many inspiring documents on outdoor play and learning. The Potential of a Puddle outlined a set of visions and values that have created the development framework  for many regions in Scotland and beyond.
Claire opened a Nature Kindergarten in Perth and Kinross called Whistlebrae, in January 2007and now has an outdoor provision for full time provision for 2-5yr olds. The site offers a nature based curriculum, a naturalistic play space and the wild wood.

Claire’s work has become international and she is currently the European co-ordinator for the Early Years World Forum Nature Collaborative.
