The Soil Association

The Soil Association is the UK's leading environmental charity promoting sustainable, organic farming. Soil Association Scotland is a devolved office of the charity.

Our activities include:

• providing technical support and advice to organic farmers,
• organising public events like an organic food festival and organic Burn's Supper,
• working with schools to deliver healthy, local and organic school meals,
• working with other NGOs and the government on lobbying for sustainable agriculture and food systems in Scotland.

We currently have funding to provide classroom workshops on sustainable food and farming. We also encourage schools to visit organic farms on our Open Farm Network so students can see first hand where their food comes from and how it is produced.
