National Association of Field Studies Officers

The National Association of Field Studies Officers (NAFSO) is the only organisation in the UK which represents professionals employed in teaching, developing and promoting field studies. It is a Voluntary Association which aims to disseminate good practice amongst its members and works to ensure that their interests are represented nationally. More detailed information about the Association can be found in our Constitution.

NAFSO has members based at centres throughout the UK, including those run by local authorities as well as independent and charitable organisations.

The Association produces a variety of publications and organises training events throughout the year, including a major three-day conference in January.

During recent years NAFSO has worked in partnership with other organisations including local education authorities, IOL, National Grid, Environment Agency, English Nature, The Countryside Agency and Growing Schools.
