Scottish Natural Heritage

Our mission is to work with Scotland’s people to care for our natural heritage. Our goals include helping people to care effectively for the whole of Scotland’s natural heritage, adding to the quality of people’s lives, making environments close to where people live more attractive and making sure that people can benefit from the natural heritage tomorrow because everyone has looked after it today.

We will be showcasing our new website called teachingspace, which helps teachers to find outdoor sites in their local area and provides activity ideas and supplementary information to help to plan and follow up a visit.

We develop resources for use outdoors or in class, provide advice and can give grants for educational activities. We also run a successful Sharing Good Practice programme, which features events designed to help educators to bring their teaching to life.
