The Scottish Countryside Alliance Educational Trust (SCAET) was set up as a Scottish charity in 2003 with the challenging aim of ‘reconnecting Scotland with the countryside’. In 3 years of activity, SCAET has established a wide variety of projects, which introduce young people to the countryside and country sports, promote training for rural employment, support rural communities through encouraging rural business and enterprise and promoting the countryside as a place for work and leisure.

The SCAET:

  • Offers a range of introductory and training days for young people to sample the training, employment and leisure opportunities provided by the countryside through Next Generation Country Days
  • Is developing a national youth angling association which promotes opportunities for accessible fishing, and opportunities for training and development through angling.
  • Promotes opportunities for volunteering and introduction to the countryside through Scotland’s Countryside Festival at Glamis Castle.
