The Royal Highland Education Trust (RHET) aims to:

  • create the opportunity for each child in Scotland to learn about the countryside
  • ensure a wider understanding of the environmental, economic and social realities of the countryside in Scotland.

Our objectives are to provide a source of independent information about food, farming and the countryside, aiming to help children gain a better understanding of the role played by these industries in the Scottish economy, environment and way of life.

RHET has developed an education programme which it delivers in partnership with schools and local authorities. Programmes are drawn up according to the needs of local teachers.

We provide visits to farms, farmer visits to schools, information on rural issues, educational resources and teacher training days/twilight sessions.
