Natural Connections is Fife Council's outdoor learning programme.
Natural Connections is a six-part programme that gives young people the chance to learn and achieve in an exciting way out of doors. It is based on the belief that the best outdoor learning combines adventure skills, personal and social development and learning about the environment.
It improves communication, teamwork and decision making, allows positive learning experiences and enables feelings of success. It also provides opportunities for personal challenges and creates opportunities for positive action for the local environment.
There are six elements and each element focuses on a specific aspect of the outdoor and natural environment. A certificate is issued after working for five or 10 hours on an element. Once six are gained then the natural Connections Award is presented to each pupil.
