Forestry Commision Scotland
Forestry Commission Scotland serves as the forestry department of the Scottish Executive and is responsible to Scottish Ministers. ‘Woods for Learning’, the FCS Education strategy, outlines the direction and development for our education work.
FCS is working with others, in particular the Forest Education Initiative partnership, to facilitate the use of woods as resource for A Curriculum for Excellence, especially as a learning space outdoors.
The Tree Trunk is an online resource for teachers and others to aid the use of trees and forests in learning. This is produced in partnership with SNH and the Central Scotland Forest Trust.
