Speaker biographyI have been in education since 1974 starting as a PE teacher in mainstream schools.   For the last 26 years I have taught in a number of special education establishments across a range of client groups.   I have had a series of promotions and am currently Depute Headteacher of Park School in East Ayrshire.    A special school for 100 pupils aged 5 – 18.   I have also been involved with Special Olympics at a local, regional, national and international level for almost 20 years.
I have always been involved in the promotion of sport as a vehicle for personal development and achievement.   Involving young people in outdoor learning has developed the 4 capacities of A Curriculum for Excellence long before A Curriculum for Excellence was thought of.
