Race equality

Scottish society is multicultural and growing more diverse.

This diversity is reflected differently from one school to the next. Scottish schools play a key role in valuing racial diversity and preparing Scotland's children and young people for life in today’s society.

In legislation to eliminate discrimination, advance equality of opportunity and foster good relations, the term 'race' includes colour, nationality and ethnic or national origins.
