Biography: Dougal Lee
Dougal studied English language and Literature at Oxford and acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has worked throughout England ncluding seasons at Birmingham Rep. Salisbury Playhouse, the London Bubble Theatre and the Phoenix in Leicester, shows with Eastern Angles, Contact in Manchester, the Liverpool Everyman and the Royal Exchange, Manchester. In Scotland he has worked with most of the major companies including Pitlochry, Perth, Mull Theatre, TAG (when he played Will Guthrie/Reverend Gibbon in Sunset Song and numerous parts in Cloud Howe and Grey Granite in TAG’s production of the Scots Quair trilogy) and Wildcat.
Dougal has worked extensively in radio and does voice-over work. He is an experienced musician and often uses his musical skills on stage. He is accomplished on flute, recorders, whistles, crumhorn, bombarde, bodhran, saxophone, clarinet, bass guitar, acoustic steel string guitar and, since he started rehearsing Sunset Song, the bagpipes.
