Reference page from a book

Are you being serious?

You've read lots of books, you have researched your topic and you have put all your ideas together in an essay that you are really proud of. Now you have the task of separating those words and ideas which are your own from those of other people. This is called 'referencing'.

Giving accurate references to information tells people that you have done some serious research. It shows you can use a wide range of sources and select the appropriate information in support of your ideas.

In this unit you'll learn how to give references to support what you say in a piece of written work such as an essay or a report.
