How good are you at managing your own time?
Most people have at some time or other felt the pressure of time. Sometimes this is the result of pressure from others, or circumstances beyond our control. Often, it has more to do with the way in which we plan, or don't plan, the use of our time.
Part of being young is that there is always something interesting or exciting waiting to be done. There are so many calls on a young person's time that it is often difficult for them to decide where to start and what to do next. Studying and learning can be a long way down the list of things that are essential on the list of 'must dos', often resulting in a panic when exams approach.
This unit is meant to help young people to manage their time more effectively, particularly when preparing for exams. It will encourage your child to plan the use of their time, and to try to find a balance between work, rest and play. It shows how to create a study timetable and a revision calendar.
You can help your child by suggesting that you help them with a calendar and a timetable. Remind them not only of the work that needs doing, but also to make time to do other things. Try not to seem over anxious yourself, and help them to remain calm and organised.
