With so much to see and do at the Scottish Learning Festival, a little planning will go a long way.
Here are some tips from the festival team:
Pre-festival
At the festival
Post-festival
All visitors need to register to attend the Scottish Learning Festival. Registering in advance will give you free fast-track entry and an information pack in advance to help you plan your visit. It only takes a few seconds.
Register for seminars and exhibition

Step 2: Decide which seminars to attend
Search through the keynotes, spotlights and seminars and decide what you would like to attend. You can pre-book all keynotes and two spotlights or seminars each day. Make sure you pre-book your place to seminars, as many sessions fill up quickly.
Search the conference programme
Step 3: Decide who to see in the exhibition hall
Visit the exhibitor list page to find out who will be at the festival. You can also search by product and category. Also view the floor plan and make a note of the stand numbers and exhibitors you would like to see.
Make sure you visit the Learning in Practice area of the website, see if there is a demonstration you would like to see at the Scottish Education Village and check out the Topic Surgeries timetable.

Step 4: Keep checking back to the website
All the latest festival news and information will be made available on the website. So save the website into your favourites and check back regularly for all the festival updates.
Step 5: Allow yourself plenty of time
There is a lot to see and do at the Scottish Learning Festival and your time is precious! Make sure you allow yourself enough time to get to the festival and explore. Travel and accommodation information is available on the website.
Step 1: Grab your free show bag with the Show Guide
Make sure you collect your free show bag, which contains your Show Guide, at the exhibition doors. Take a moment to read the guide and familiarise yourself with the different elements of the festival.
Step 2: Visit the Seminar Ticket Desk in Hall 4
Three weeks prior to the festival, you would have received your visitor badges and seminar tickets in the post. For seminar sessions with remaining seats available, visit the team at the Seminar Ticket Desk in Hall 4 to collect tickets. The exception to this rule are the keynotes. If you haven’t pre-booked a seat to the keynote addresses, you do not need to line up for a ticket at the seminar ticket desk to attend them. Simply show your visitor badge at the doors of the Clyde Auditorium for entry.
Step 3: Explore the exhibition floor
Allow plenty of time to explore the exhibition floor. There is bound to be something there for you. Spend some time in the new Early Years Zone, Health and Wellbeing Zone and the Learning in Practice area. Check out the timetable at the Topic Surgeries and the Educational Showcase too.
Step 4: Attend your seminars
If you have registered for seminars, you will have received your seminar tickets in the post with your badges. If not, visit the Seminar Ticket Desk in Hall 4 for tickets for any spare seats available. Redeem these at the door to attend your seminars. Make sure you write down all the good ideas you’ve come across in your seminars.
Step 5: Network, share and network some more
There are plenty of catering spots throughout the SECC and lounges on the exhibition floor to chat with peers and re-energise. Topic Surgeries are also a great way to meet like-minded colleagues and engage in discussions with the festival’s presenters.
Step 1: Implement and share what you’ve learned
The most important way to spend your time at the festival is to put into practice what you have learned. Share your experiences and discoveries with your colleagues and discuss how they can be implemented in the classroom.
Step 2: Sign up to The Delegate email bulletin to receive updates for future festivals
Get Scottish Learning Festival news in your inbox by subscribing to receive the exclusive The Delegate email bulletin direct to your mailbox. You'll be the first to receive the latest news and updates from the festival, such as speaker bookings for the conference programme, when and how you can register, special features and more.
