Discussion Zone
The SLF 2009 programme included the Discussion Zone, the new name for the Topic Surgeries. The Discussion Zone provided delegates with the opportunity to engage in small-scale discussions with presenters.
Covering a range of topics the Discussion Zone provided visitors with the opportunity to listen to and have discussions with many of the presenters from the SLF conference programme in a friendly and informal setting.
Taking place within a designated area in the main exhibition hall, Discussion Zone groups were conducted across round tables hosted by educationalists over the two days of the event. The presenters facilitated informal discussions with their audience on a variety of projects and educational topics. Discussions were informal, with the aim of focusing the talks on the information needs of the participants.
Discussion Zones are a further example of the Scottish Learning Festival providing a voice for delegates to exchange views with other educationalists and take away ideas to use when they return to work.
