A project to develop communication skills, between Infants in Argyll Schools, utilising a variety of tools, ranging from telephone, digital photography and video, to Kidspiration, travelling bears and latterly Blog.
Email? …Some can’t write yet independently! What can be done to motivate? Travelling bears! An idea with a new slant! Then it grew like Topsy.
“There’s no D on my computer and I need one!”
“You’ll need to show me now!”
“I need to make a capital letter!” Motivation is what it’s all about!”
All primary schools were given Kidspiration, by Learning and Teaching Scotland, and this was yet another way to use it. They photographed and filmed, talked and wrote. The project put the C into ICT at many levels and covered a huge number of 5-14 strands, whilst to an extent, allowing the children to be in charge of their own learning outcomes. AND IT WAS FUN! The presentation will demonstrate that learning and teaching with ICT doesn’t need to be painful for teachers either!
