This programme of free sessions within the Scottish Education Village will highlight examples of innovative practice from various schools, videoconferencing sessions and new resources, and also spotlight areas of Learning and Teaching Scotland’s Online Service.

| 10.45 | Health Promoting Schools - Learning Community Experience a day in the life of Lochend Learning Community's health promoting school day in partnership with our whole school community. Innovative and sustainable projects have been developed to enhance health promotion through the breakfast service, curriculum, lunch and play time and after-school provision. The workshop will talk you through these and invite you to meet some of the partners including parents and children who have been involved. | |
| 11.15 | Active Start – Fun with Physical Activities
Clackmannanshire Council officers from the early years sector and sports development have been collaborating for several years; they have been instrumental in designing and delivering physical activities for pre-school children. They will present and demonstrate the Council's Active Start programme. The programme includes a range of adapted resources and material using physical activity to promote key elements of the 3-5 curriculum. A detailed syllabus has been developed for specialists to deliver in the nursery setting and as a coach education package. The interaction between the two services has produced a wealth of ideas which has benefited our children, families and nursery staff. | |
