Fringe activities in Hall 1

Cultural gallery

In conjunction with a number of national organisations including the Scottish Poetry Library and the National Galleries of Scotland, the Scottish Learning Festival hosted a gallery of award-winning artwork and poems as a result of competitions that took place throughout 2006. This was an ideal opportunity for delegates to find out more about national competitions and the resources available to support pupils in the classroom.

Round-table discussion

Unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances Ewan’s round-table discussion, scheduled for Wednesday at 12:15, had to be cancelled. The SETT team apologises for any inconvenience this may cause.

Assessment is for Learning Village

On Thursday 21 September, the Assessment is for Learning Village took place in Hall 1.  Delegates were able to see for themselves examples of the work carried out across Scotland by schools which engaged in small-scale action research projects during session 2005-06.

In addition to the interesting practice that has developed through project working, classroom practitioners were on hand to explain the rationale for their chosen development focus and to answer questions about their work.

International lounge

To support the growing number of overseas delegates the Scottish Learning Festival hosted a special lounge to enable delegates to forge international link with each other.
