| Seminar Description | An exploration of the use of digital images and movies in a variety of contexts and subject areas, including the stress-free manipulation, sourcing and storage of images and the use of readily available presentation applications for the meeting room, the classroom or the single PC. The seminar will focus on the ease with which graphics can encourage, motivate and enhance learning in the digital world. |

| Speaker biography | Ken Kinnear has been Principal Teacher of Geography for over 20 years at Craigmount High School in Edinburgh. As a geographer, he has always been interested in graphics and image manipulation and has achieved high-level skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, PageMaker, FileMaker Pro and InDesign. He is a would-be musician and runs his own Musical Theatre Company, Tempo, with his wife, Norma.
He has been seconded for two years to work as an IT Support Tutor for City of Edinburgh Teachers and this has broadened his skills and the application of IT to a wide range of subjects. His latest enthusiasm is for Apple's GarageBand and how it may be applied in a teaching context. |
