09.45Better Behaviour, Better Learning
Ruth Campbell - Pupil Support & Inclusion Division
This session will introduce initiatives and approaches to promoting positive behaviour in Scottish schools, in support of the policy direction described by Better Behaviour-Better Learning.  It will explore progress towards meeting the recommendations of BB-BL and experience of sharing learning and good practice within the education community.
10.15Sustainable Secondary Schools Project
Alison Nind, Currie Community High School, Edinburgh City
We will explore some of the many ways in which schools in the Sustainable Secondary Schools Project have initiated and developed teaching programmes which explore ideas of sustainability and their impact on global citizenship.
10:45Birth to Three: supporting Relationships, Responsive Care and Respect
Juliet Hancock - DO, Early Years, LT Scotland
The session will focus on the additional support materials being produced to support the national guidance on Birth to 3. These support materials include a dvd and a print pack of training materials, the materials are designed to be used by a wide range of people involved in working with young children and their families.
11:15Interactive Whiteboards Demonstration - Early Years
Janet Moffat - Ardnahoe Nursery School
Janet and Heather will demonstrate how IWBs can be used effectively within the pre – school setting, children from Ardnahoe Nursery will be on hand to keep them right.
11:45An International Perspective - MFLs in the Primary Classroom
Woodhill Primary, Bishopbriggs

Pupils from Woodhill will perform their award winning French play ‘Blanche Neige’. This helped them gain accreditation for the British Council’s International School Award Scheme*

*The International School Award is an accreditation scheme for curriculum-based international work in schools. It is open to all schools from all sectors across the UK.

12:15Early Identification Assessment Tools

This session will look at the piloting of a early identification assessment tools to highlight pupils who may have a specific learning difficulty. This will look at the skills young children need to develop and some possible activities to support these areas.
12:45British Pathe Archive and Audio Network Resources
Marshall Mateer - Consultant, British Pathe

The British Pathe Schools Licence brings 100 years of world history to your school. 3,500 hours of video files are available free through your LEA and national education network.
Find out about the potential this vast resource has in supporting teaching for many areas of the curriculum. The session will also include the Audio Network service which provides music files free for digital work in schools.

Barbara Boyd - Children & Families, Edinburgh City Council
Barbara Boyd and Lindsey Robertson, two Edinburgh Head teachers, share with you their Columba 1400 Head teacher Leadership Academy experience. Both Barbara and Lindsey have interesting tales to tell about what their Columban journey was like and where it has taken them.

The session aims to provide an overview of the National Priorities Review including its purpose and scope and how it will be taken forward.
14:15National Priorities - Report on Religious Observance Review Group
Susan Leslie - DO, LT Scotland
Susan will speak about the implementation of the Report on Religious Observance Review Group and the Circular relating to Religious Observance. The focus will be on the issues for schools and authorities and the links with National Priorities and a Curriculum for Excellence.
14:45Modern Foreign Languages Environment (MFLE)
Ewan McIntosh - Development Officer [MFLE], Scottish CILT, Institute of Education, University of Stirling.
Languages teacher Ewan will take delegates through this exciting new resource for teachers of Modern Languages.
15:15Small Grants for Science
Sandra Lowson - Careers Scotland
The Science Small Grants Scheme for Schools offers small-scale project funding to school clusters with ideas that enhance science teaching and learning at the transition from primary to secondary school. Case studies of projects awarded a grant in previous rounds will be available and an opportunity to discuss the criteria your possible project should meet.
15:45National Priorities - Future Learning and Teaching (FL&T) programme
Jean MacMillan - DO, LT Scotland
Jean will highlight some of the recent innovative work being done in schools across Scotland in the Future Learning and Teacher (FL&T) programme utilising the FL&T website.
16:15Arts in the Curriculum - Rhythm & Singing Motivators
Ross Morgan - Rhythm Motivator, Claire Forsyth - Singing Motivator, Rowan Gillespie - Dance Motivator, Richard Creasey - Digital Music Motivator.
West Dunbartonshire Council’s Arts Motivator team is an inspiring, energetic and creative collective of four externally-funded artists-in-education. Hear how these arts specialists support the curriculum, the staff and the pupils.
16:45Restorative Practices

An introduction to restorative practices – the what, how, why and where.  This session will explore the value and purpose of restorative practices, and how the Scottish Executive is supporting their development in Scottish schools.
17:15National Priorities - Additional Support Needs
Catherine Clark - DO, LT Scotland
Catherine will use audio and video extracts from the National Priorities website to identify interesting practice and explore the issues surrounding pupils with Additional Support Needs within the context of the National Priorities and A Curriculum for Excellence.
