The Scottish Government fully supports and participates in the Scottish Learning Festival. We are committed to expanding opportunities to ensure that everybody has access to learning opportunities that can help them achieve their full potential.
We believe it is vital that young people are successful learners, confidant individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

AHDS is the union dedicated to Headteachers, Deputes and Principal Teachers in Scotland’s nursery, primary and special schools. We have changed a great deal in recent years–first opening our doors to Deputes and then to Principal Teachers as a recognition of the significant management roles undertaken by these staff.
As all-encompassing teaching unions are dominated by classroom teachers and their interests, AHDS was established (in 1975) to provide promoted post holders with a separate channel for support and advice as well as a distinct voice in local and national policy debates.

The Educational Institute of Scotland is Scotland's largest teaching union, with over 60,000 members in nursery, primary, secondary, special, further and higher education. The EIS promotes the cause of education and has played a leading role in the development of CPD opportunities for Scotland's teachers, supported by our network of accredited Union Learning Representatives.

The General Teaching Council for Scotland is the independent professional regulatory body for teachers which maintains the national register of teachers and is committed to raising the professional standards of teachers and education in Scotland.
HM Inspectorate of Education is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Ministers under the terms of the Scotland Act 1998. We operate independently and impartially whilst remaining directly accountable to Scottish Ministers for the standards of our work. Agency status safeguards the independence of our inspection, review and reporting within the overall context of Scottish Ministers’ strategic objectives for the Scottish education system.
Our core objective is to promote and contribute to sustainable improvements in standards, quality and achievements for all learners in the Scottish education system and children’s services in Scotland.

The Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) is the national body for the development, accreditation, assessment and certification of qualifications other than degrees and some professional qualifications.
The character of Scottish qualifications has transformed in recent years – this is no accident. SQA has been working in partnership with schools, colleges, universities and industry to raise standards and develop new and exciting qualifications.
Visit SQA in the exhibition to find out about all our latest developments.

School Leaders Scotland (formerly HAS) is the only professional association which exclusively represents senior leaders in secondaries having over 80% of Head Teachers and an increasing number of DHTs, Business Managers and Principal Teachers. The service provided includes excellent CPD, outstanding professional/legal support, and an influential impact on Scottish education.
