Excellence in LGBT equality education

CodeN1I
Seminar DateThursday 22 September
Start Time13:15
Duration45 minutes
Seminar Description

A positive attitude towards equality and diversity is a key element of responsible citizenship in the 21st century. This session will tackle an aspect of equality education which many teachers find challenging.  It will highlight examples of excellent practice in promoting LGBT equality in secondary schools.  Successful learning in this area represents an important aspect of health and wellbeing within Curriculum for Excellence and ensures all young people feel included.

Secondary school teachers will talk about how they promote understanding of LGBT equality issues through the curriculum in its widest sense; and young people will talk about how they have benefited from their learning.

There will be input from LGBT Youth and Stonewall about their partnership working with schools.
