| Seminar Description | The principle of intervening early is based on the belief that the quality of childcare delivered is critical factor in achieving better outcomes for children and families, and that this must be based upon non-judgemental relationships, mutual respect, highly flexible responses and a commitment to 'children first'. This seminar will explore: - the work of the Initiative
- the role of the child carer and reparative parenting
- the powerful voices of children and families
- the importance of transitions.

| Speaker biography | Juliet Hancock is Senior Early Childhood Officer at Stirling Council. One of Juliet's key roles is to provide professional support to staff in the Stirling Council area, including taking forward the Documentation Approach to Children's Early Learning. Juliet also has a lead role for Health in the early years and works closely with early years establishments to take this forward as well as supporting the early Years Framework in a range of areas including the Family Support and Community Childcare Initiative. Juliet has worked within further and higher education, at a national level for the Scottish Pre-school Play Association and is President of the Scottish Childminding Association. Juliet took forward national work on Birth to 3, pedagogy and listening to children in her role as Development Officer for Emerging Trends at Learning and Teaching Scotland and has presented at a range of national and international conferences, including the European Early Childhood Education Research Association (EECERA) conference and Children in Scotland Conferences. |
