| Start Time | 12:30 |
| Duration | 45 minutes |
| Seminar Description | Channel 4 Education is embarking on an experiment in delivering media and services to teenagers that has profound implications for the future of public service and perhaps mainstream education. We have embarked on a new strategy to reach and engage with young people on their own terms. Come and join us for lunch on 25 September at 12:30, and meet the people behind the change… Matt Locke, Commissioning Editor and his team will be available to showcase some of the innovative, cross platform projects, games and web based services we are commissioning for 2008/9 that encourage a two-way participation, and offer the chance to stimulate conversation around learning experiences, rather than to simply dictate learning. We are focussing on issues derived from young people’s needs and desires that may be outside the more formal education curriculum. We also want our projects to be picked up by education professionals as support to PSHE and citizenship teaching, and to be directly mapped on to areas of the curriculum, such as history and science. Come and have a sneak preview of our upcoming projects. This is your chance to see how young people are engaging with social networks, games and popular technologies. |
