Count Us In: Mind Over Matter, Promoting Mental and Emotional Wellbeing for All

CodeC2E
Seminar DateWednesday 21 September
Start Time15:45
Duration45 minutes
Seminar Description

This session builds on the recent HMIE guide ‘Mind Over Matter’ which was published in March 2011 as part of the Count Us In online resource. It will provide information on how well we promote young people’s mental and emotional wellbeing and support those with mental health problems. In doing so, we will look at the incidence of mental health problems and the factors that may put some young people more at risk in terms of their mental wellbeing.

Participants will hear about the work and success of the ‘Growing Confidence Project’ in the City of Edinburgh Council. The project manager will share how schools and early years settings have been supported to develop and implement a holistic approach to promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing. The session should help practitioners and managers reflect on how to improve practice further in their establishments and give opportunities to share good practice and current challenges.
