| Seminar Description | These seminars will explore the interconnected nature of learning, teaching and assessment and how teachers' professional judgements are essential in determining the progress children and young people are making. They will explore many key messages such as the principles of assessment, standards and expectations, ensuring consistency and validity through moderation, reporting to parents, informing self-evaluation for improvement and monitoring standards over time. These seminars will provide opportunities to hear from creative and skilled practitioners on how they have developed innovative and relevant learning experiences through planned activities that lead to sustained, motivating learning and high levels of achievement for all children and young people. |

| Speaker biography | Sheena Dunlop is an experienced Chartered Teacher who is on secondment to Education Scotland from North Ayrshire Council as a Development Officer for Numeracy. Sheena has a particular interest in and considerable knowledge and experience of active learning approaches in numeracy. |
