| Seminar Description | This seminar will outline how to create in-house assessments, software tutorials and practical assessment, for use with Glow VLE. The main focus of the session will be spent demonstrating the two software packages, Content Generator and Captivate 3, showing how staff can quickly and easily produce their own web based interactive assessments. Examples of the web based assessments and tutorials can be found at the following web page: www.st-ninians.e-dunbarton.sch.uk. A set of tutorials, created by Andrew Brown, on how to use Captivate are available on the web site: www.swict.com. All of the tutorials were created using Captivate 2. In addition a brief explanation will be given of how Glow Learn and Content Packs can be used to incorporate the completed assessments into the Glow VLE for automatic marking and recording. Content Generator software packages will let users create custom versions of E-Learning activities allowing the creation of subject specific interactive quizzes. Content Generator and Captivate 3 offers powerful, built-in options to rapidly create quiz questions including multiple choice, short answer, fill in the blank, true or false, matching, and more. The questions are completely customisable and can be added to question pools to create random quizzes. Crazy Talk is software used to further enhance quizzes by allowing the creator to animate characters with their own voice, recorded audio or typed text. Automatic voice lip-sync analysis is used to create natural lip-sync animation which further enhances the learners experience. |
