This workshop will explore some of the key issues surrounding the Literacy and English experiences and outcomes.
The aims of the seminar are as follows:

  • To provide an update on the draft Literacy and English Framework
  • To highlight main points from feedback
  • To share good practice and innovative approaches
  • To promote engagement in using and reviewing the draft Literacy and English experience and outcomes
  • To discuss possible next steps.
SpeakersYasmin Ashby, Literacy Development Officer, Learning and Teaching Scotland
Speaker biography

Yasmin Ashby is seconded to Learning and Teaching Scotland as a Development Officer for Literacy, her substantive post is Principal Teacher of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Intervention Programme.

She has had experience teaching across all stages within the primary sector and has taught in early years settings.   Her most recent post has involved providing advice and support for Literacy from Primary 1 – Primary 7 within East Dunbartonshire.  This concerned demonstrating innovate teaching and learning approaches in class, creating resources to support the teaching of literacy as well as providing a range of CPD activities to develop good practice.
