| Seminar Description | The opportunity to meet an author as part of their educational experience can have a lasting impact on children and young people’s attitudes to their own reading and writing. Sustained working with a writer is an effective way to progress pupil’s educational experience across each of the capacities of Curriculum for Excellence, enabling them to develop their own creative working. This year, Scottish Book Trust has piloted a 3-way mentoring scheme between writers and teachers, enabling them to work together to expand their confidence in using creative literature in the classroom. Participants from the mentoring and staff from Scottish Book Trust will present case studies from the scheme and outline the models of best practice that have been developed. |
