Using assessment to improve achievement in National Qualifications

Introduction

Paisley Grammar School is a non-denominational secondary school in the west of Scotland with a roll of 1160 pupils.

This project focused on raising pupil attainment in NQ classes through the implementation of Assessment is for Learning (AifL) methodology. Departments used a variety of methods to implement AifL principles, and sharing of good practice amongst colleagues was a key element to the success of the project.
