Star-tastic - learning about earth and space

Star-tastic was an evening event which provided pupils with the opportunity to learn more about the earth and space and take part in practical activities with different organisations.

This followed a successful pilot activity last year and the numbers were doubled to meet the demand from schools to participate. Eight schools took part in the activities, which were held over two evenings, 25 and 26 March 2008. Schools were asked to nominate 10 pupils to participate.

The school successfully applied for a grant from the Institute of Physics. The events were a partnership between:

• Forestry Commission
• Glasgow Science Centre
• Stirling Astronomical Society
• Clackmannanshire Council’s Determined to Succeed team.
