Rolling out Glow within a secondary school

Introduction

Maths teacher John Sexton wanted to explore how Glow could be used to enhance learning and teaching in the secondary school where he worked. As well as wishing to encourage pupils to use Glow, John also wanted to find out how he could use it to support other staff in his role as a mentor.

John set out to identify a core team of enthusiasts to be the initial Glow users within the school. He began by using Glow with his own pupils. This allowed him to explore which elements of Glow were most useful to him in his learning and teaching activities, and which parts of Glow pupils most enjoyed using.

John then used his own experiences of Glow to advise and support other teachers in the school and to work with others to plan the rollout of Glow across the James Young High School.
