All young people have been able to access enriching learning experiences.
Teachers are gaining experience in using the draft experiences and outcomes to collaborate in planning relevant, motivational and challenging programmes.
Pupils are more actively engaged in planning and enjoying their learning, helping them to move more confidently from primary to secondary school (see Planning Summary document in the Process section).
Smaller class sizes and the use of teaching teams have helped teachers to know pupils better and to provide more effective support through primary-secondary transition.
Young people feel more confident in making the transition to secondary school, having already developed relationships with members of the secondary school staff and continuing their chosen area of study from primary through to secondary school.
Young people have continued to take aspects of the project forward by establishing 'Columba Broadcasting'. This has become a school media project in which young people are involved in recording achievements across the school through filming and sharing school experiences. This involves practical displays, presentations on the internet and radio broadcasts.
