Del.icio.us is an online bookmarking site which allows you to store and organise favourites by keywords. You can start using it with a free registration and by importing the favourites from your own computer bookmarks menu.
Once you’ve started placing your favourites into del.icio.us, you can share your bookmarks’ web addresses. Some of the MFLE's favourite links can be found on our own MFLE del.icio.us page.
The tool also goes further, allowing you to see who else has bookmarked the same pages. The more a page is bookmarked, the more popular it is and perhaps the better the resource.
Here is a tutorial on using online bookmarking tool del.icio.us from the University of Toronto's Grail project.
David Muir from the University of Strathclyde has also prepared a written document explaining how del.icio.us can be used in education. Read the PDF on David Muir's site.
FURL is another tool which can be used to store collections of links. Find out how to use it in this easy-to-follow screencast on the New Media Workshops website.
