Outcomes

Children are constantly surrounded by technology and are confident in its uses and purposes. The staff felt that this project was taking their skills to another level by extending children’s knowledge and encouraging them to be inventive and creative thinkers.

This experience has been a fantastic learning opportunity for the children and staff and was very much enjoyed by all. The children have become more confident in their use of early literacy, expressive arts and ICT skills, and can independently select appropriate equipment and processes to make up stories, retell familiar stories and film one another in active play.

This project has been a very valuable experience, and clearly promoted the children as successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens.

The children were always keen to take part in the filming sessions and they particularly enjoyed the final day where all their ideas were put together and filmed. Since the workshops finished, the children have asked when The Films Media Company will be coming back to show us the DVD and if they could make another film. The parents have also made comments on how excited the children were during the project and how they would talk enthusiastically about the experience and what they had learned.
