About the nursery

The children involved in the project are 'Rising Fives' – children who are starting primary school in August.

Project aims

The project was set up to extend links between home/nursery/school and to encourage early literacy skills and a love of books. The children will take books home and also see the same books in nursery and in primary school. In some cases, the Primary 1 teacher will read the books to the children on their visits as part of the induction programme.
