Glenda Collis has a Bachelor of Education degree from Northern College, Aberdeen and has been teaching for 12 years at Rothes Primary School. She currently has a P2 class.
She is the school ICT administrator and the ICT coordinator for the local school group. She has gained her ICT skills formally through New Opportunities Fund (NOF) courses and evening classes at a local college, and also through experimenting at home.
Glenda tries to integrate ICT into various areas of the curriculum, from evaluating drama performances using digital video to the use of simulation CD-ROMs in environmental studies
Rothes Primary School is in the village of Rothes and is attended by pupils from the surrounding countryside. There are 129 primary and 26 nursery pupils. 22 pupils have free school lunches and there are no pupils with English as a second language. The average length of teacher service is 16 years.
The school has 22 PCs and two laptops. There is at least one PC in every classroom and also an ICT room. All the teachers at the school have had New Opportunities Fund (NOF) ICT training.
