Lourdes Secondary School: Introduction
Lourdes Secondary School is a large Catholic comprehensive school with approximately 1,400 pupils.Located in the south-west of Glasgow it is bordered on one side by Paisley Road West, which is a main traffic link between Glasgow and Paisley. Both the M77 and M8 motorways pass through the school’s catchment area.

| Summary: | This case study aims to share the experiences of students at Lourdes Secondary School as they faced the challenge of managing, delivering and evaluating an environmental 'Car free day' campaign. By working closely with the school and the local community to collect and analyse data, this project helped the students become aware of the complexity of addressing environmental problems, encouraging sustainable solutions and of their own effect on people’s lifestyles. |
