Katrin, foreign language assistant from Germany

Katrin is from Germany and is working as a foreign language assistant in the east of Scotland. 

In her November diary, she talks about forming good relationships with her mentor and fellow teachers, and about the distinctive accents she encounters!

In her February diary, she wonders about the best way to help pupils to remember words and phrases, and talks about how quickly the school year is passing.

In her June diary, Katrin says that she has even fewer hours' teaching now than when she started, as the older pupils have left. She looks back on her good experiences, such as her German conversation club. She thinks it'd be a good idea to have foreign-language assistants visit other classes such as Modern Studies or History, to talk about their country first-hand.
