Fir Park School: Introduction

Fir Park School is a special needs school catering for nursery, primary and secondary pupils whose catchment area covers a wide part of North Lanarkshire. With just over 200 pupils with a wide range of learning needs, Fir Park School was awarded its first Green Flag in June 2005.

Summary:

Fir Park School is an excellent example of the inclusive nature of the Eco Schools initiative, with a truly 'whole-school' approach. The Eco Committee comprises 10 pupils from P6-S6, 5 teachers, 1 parent and 1 school board member. Meetings are held once a month and pupils chair and minute each meeting with staff support.
