Falkirk anti-racist education: next steps

The project is continuing to develop across Falkirk Council. Parents from Kinneil have been invited to speak to other parent groups, and have been able to discuss their experiences. Issues of equality and inclusion have been highlighted.

Falkirk Council’s Parent Initiatives Officer has secured some funding to develop these meetings into a series of doll-making workshops.

It is anticipated that during the workshops, issues such as prejudice, discrimination, cultures and religions will be discussed in order to dispel myths and stereotypes. The parent from Kinneil, who made Nadim, will lead the workshops but will be supported by Elaine and the Parent Initiatives Officer.

Elaine will also be involved in training staff on how to use the dolls to promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
