Dumbarton Academy: Making connections in learning

Photograh of greenhouse build from recycled bottles

At the end of the project, all groups of pupils gave presentations of their work, including musical performances; poetry readings; drama performances; and visual displays of their work, all demonstrating their understanding and knowledge of the issues involved in climate change. In addition to the many displays of work which are posted around the school, the young people also built an eco-garden and a greenhouse (constructed from plastic bottles) will be further developed by other groups of pupils over the coming years.

Pupils, parents and staff were involved in evaluating the project; their responses have been gathered and their views are being used to inform future planning.
